Recall Efforts passes 6,000 Individual Donors
Orange County, CA -- On a day the Sacramento BEE reported fed-up Californians are leaving the state in record number, the campaign to recall Gavin Newsom took a major step forward, announcing they are mailing recall petitions to nearly 900,000 voters this week.
With over 800,000 signatures already collected, Rescue California – Recall Gavin Newsom will drop 1.5 million petition packages in the mail, targeting almost 900,000 California voters.
Rescue California is working in conjunction with the volunteer recall committee - California Patriot Coalition – Recall Governor Gavin Newsom – to qualify the recall giving the state’s voters the opportunity to remove Newsom and choose a new governor. The 500,000 piece mailing is the first in a series of mailings Rescue California is planning over the next several weeks.
Over 6,000 individuals have donated to the combined recall campaigns and over 800,000 signatures from California voters have been collected to date.
“Californians of all political stripes are sensing that the state they love is suffering from a lack of leadership, vision and direction from an arrogant and out-of-touch Governor,” said Rescue California campaign and finance director Anne Dunsmore. “Our coalition is made up of moms, small business owners, young entrepreneurs, seniors and workers who see the promise of golden state slipping away.”
Since Rescue California-Recall Gavin Newsom was formed in November, numerous significant supporters have signed on to the recall campaign, including the former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, and former Presidential candidate, Governor Mike Huckabee, both of whom are assisting in fundraising efforts.
Just today the Sacramento BEE reported that Californians are fleeing the state in droves, stating "the Golden State, long seen as a beacon of opportunity, has become a more difficult and less attractive place in which to live, pay the rent, buy a house and do business."
"When we started Rescue California in 2003, pundits said we could never gather enough signatures to qualify a recall. They were wrong then and those saying it can't be done in 2021 will be proven wrong again," said Rescue California consultant Dave Gilliard.
The original Rescue California was formed in 2003 and is credited with recalling former Governor Gray Davis. Recall organizers have until March 17, 2021 to gather 1,495,709 valid signatures.
