Orange County, CA - - Today,

Rescue California announced that the official recall petition to remove Gavin Newsom from office has been approved by the Secretary of State. 75,000

petitions have already been requested by angry residents in almost every county.

“One month ago, to the day, we started the process of recalling Gavin Newsom because he has abandoned the state to advance his Presidential ambitions, leaving behind a $73 Billion budget deficit that is climbing and a public safety, immigration and education crisis,” said Rescue California’s Campaign Director Anne Dunsmore. “Today, while waiting for approval of the petition, over 75,000 petitions have been requested by thousands of California voters from almost every county in the state”.

This is the second time Gavin Newsom has been subject to a Recall effort. In 2021, nearly 5 million Californians voted to remove Newsom from office. He only survived after outspending recall proponents by over 20-1.

Recall proponents laid out multiple reasons for recalling Newsom, who has over two years and three more budgets left in his term of office, saying he:

·        Granted 700,000 illegal immigrants free health care at a cost to taxpayers of $3 billion annually, while cutting vital programs for veterans, school children,

the disabled and the homeless.

·      Kept schools closed during Covid longer than other states forcing California students to fall further behind in basic skills such as language and mathematics.

·        Closed prisons and ordered the release of thousands of dangerous criminals onto our streets.

·        Weakened our public safety laws, creating an epidemic of smash and grab crimes and violent assaults.

·        Forced Californians to suffer under the highest taxes in the nation and the highest home prices outside Hawaii, while he undermines Prop. 13.

·       Spends billions o n government homeless programs that have repeatedly failed, leaving the state with the highest percentage of homelessness in the country.

“He has put this state and it’s residents in a dangerous position financially,” said Dunsmore, “We are suffering at the gas pumps, at home and in our communities because prices are spiking, the border is out of control and crime is on the rise.  People are madder than before and we don’t even need as many signatures this time!  And with the looming increase of an historic budget deficit, it doesn’t seem like the Governor has any idea what to do about it…even his own Democrat

legislature is starting to circle the wagons around their own tax-and-spend projects against Newsom’s budget cuts. He’s running out of friends.”
